Lenny Kravitz is alive, and reports claiming the musician died in a Florida plane crash are false. His representatives have denied speculation linking him to the private jet that crashed Sunday, November 1, in Palm Beach County, killing all nine people aboard.

“The reports are untrue and incorrect,” Kravitz’s team told TMZ.

The misinformation spread after social media users incorrectly identified pilot Emily Shelton as someone operating the aircraft. A post attributed to Shelton about a planned flight with Kravitz then circulated as supposed evidence that the singer had been aboard. Fact-checking outlet Lead Stories found no evidence connecting either Shelton or Kravitz to the fatal flight.

Shelton also issued a statement on TikTok denying involvement. She urged people to stop spreading speculation, respect those affected by the tragedy and remember the families who lost loved ones.

The aircraft, a Learjet 60 traveling from Austin, Texas, toward the Bahamas, went down near Cresthaven and Greenacres around 12:50 p.m. Eastern on Sunday. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration, according to Us Weekly.

The statements from Kravitz’s representatives and Shelton expose the central flaw in the viral claim: a social media post about a flight did not establish who was aboard the aircraft that crashed. Sharing that assumption as fact falsely linked the musician to a tragedy involving nine victims.
