OAKLAND, Calif. — Reality television personality Mackayla Paige, known to fans as Kash, was fatally shot in downtown Oakland early Sunday, October 11. She was 29. Police have arrested a woman from Richmond in connection with the shooting, KTVU reports.

Officers responded shortly after 1:30 a.m. to the 200 block of 14th Street, where they found a woman suffering from gunshot injuries. They attempted lifesaving measures before she was transported to a hospital, where she died, according to Oakland police statements reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Now That’s TV identified Paige and paid tribute to her in a social media statement, remembering her appearances on the network and extending condolences to her family, friends and fellow cast members. The network described her as “a beloved member of our Now That’s TV family.”

Her death has left family members and fans mourning a young woman whose entertainment career was still developing.

The woman arrested has not been publicly identified in the reporting reviewed, and authorities have not disclosed a motive. An arrest does not establish guilt.
