BREAKING: Tyrese Gibson Wins Arrest Authorization Against Ex-Wife Samantha in Custody Dispute

ATLANTA — A Fulton County magistrate judge has approved Tyrese Gibson’s request to authorize the arrest of his ex-wife, Samantha Lee Gibson, following a hearing over allegations that she interfered with his custody rights, according to hearing details provided to Hip Hop Enquirer.

Magistrate Judge Adam Petty heard from Tyrese, who attended the proceeding in person, and attorney Kathryn Franklin, who appeared on Samantha’s behalf. After considering both sides’ arguments, Petty ultimately sided with Tyrese.

The ruling marks a significant development in the former couple’s contentious legal battle involving their daughter, Soraya.

According to court documents described in TMZ’s September 29 report, Tyrese accused Samantha of taking their daughter out of state and failing to facilitate visitation. His application concerned an alleged incident in September 2025 in Atlanta.

Tyrese alleged that Samantha’s conduct was planned and violated a parenting agreement the former couple had reached the previous month. Those assertions are his allegations.

Samantha disputed his account. In her response, according to TMZ, she opposed the warrant request, asserted that she has primary custody, and said Tyrese’s application contained inaccurate information about their custody dispute. She also maintained that her relocation was known and had not been concealed.

Despite that opposition, Judge Petty approved Tyrese’s request, according to the hearing account supplied to Hip Hop Enquirer. The judge’s complete reasoning and the precise alleged offense were not available for this report.

The former couple married in 2017, welcomed Soraya in 2018, and announced their separation in 2020. Their subsequent legal proceedings have involved custody, child support and attorney’s fees.

TMZ reported that Tyrese was ordered in 2022 to pay $10,690 monthly in child support and was briefly taken into custody in 2024 over unpaid support. Samantha’s attorneys later sought to have him jailed over approximately $492,000 in allegedly unpaid legal fees.

Samantha Gibson must surrender to Fulton County Sheriff office to be booked in however the judge has already authorized that she can be released with a signature bond. Approval of an arrest warrant is not a finding of guilt, and this ruling does not itself settle the former couple’s broader custody dispute.

Now, the latest ruling places Samantha at the center of an arrest authorization sought by Tyrese. How will this provide leverage for Tyrese as his family court case is now in a Gwinnett County court.
