“This isn’t a situation where you have an episodic gaffe. This is daily. And weekly,” Obama said of Trump during a press conference with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.“They are distancing themselves from statements he’s making, but there has to be a point at which you say, ‘this is not somebody I can support for President of the United States,” Obama said of Trump-supporting Republicans.

“And the fact that that has not yet happened, it makes these denunciations ring hollow. I don’t doubt their sincerity. I don’t doubt they’re outraged about some the statements Trump and his supporters have made about the Khan family but there has to come a point when you say, ‘somebody who makes those kind of statements does not have the judgement … to occupy the most powerful position in the world,” Obama added, before making an even stronger case against the clear and present danger of a Trump presidency.

President Obama made a very good argument as to why Republicans should not support Trump:

He spoke about the multiple gaffes Trump has on a daily and weekly basis. He also pointed out that the fact that Republicans are distancing themselves from the statements he makes should be obvious that they shouldn’t support his bid for presidency. He believes that Americans would be in a “clear and present” danger if Trump was to win the election.
