HBO is teaming up with rapper-actor Snoop Dogg and “Menace II Society” director Allen Hughes for an upcoming drama series. The unnamed series, which was announced during Snoop’s SXSW panel, will center around a family whose seemingly idyllic life is turned upside down by the collision of their community and American politics in 1980’s Los Angeles.
“HBO is the number one network in the world as far as developing and having these types of shows come to life,” Snoop said while discussing the show during a South by Southwest keynote. “This is a dream come true to be able to tell a story that’s going to be told the right way on the right network.”
Snoop will serve as Executive Producer on the potential series.
