The 2011 American Music Awards went off without a hitch (boring) last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.  Young Money rapstress, Nicki Minaj took on the daunting challenge of being one half of the show’s opening acts, alongside pop singer David Guetta when she performed a mini-medley of her current hits including “Super Bass,” “Sweat” and “Turn Me On”. Nicki later took home trophies for Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Album. The undisputed best female rapper alive was pictured in the press room with both of her awards in a vibrant spring 2012 look from Oscar de la Renta.

Other hip hop stars dazzled that evening as well. Appearances were made by Lil Jon, Sean Kingston, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige and more. Check out the pics below and let us know what you think.  Were you watching the awards?
