In a very short time, Kendrick Lamar has evolved into hip-hop’s biggest new star. Gaining some well-deserved attention after dropping his classic album, good kid m.A.A.d. city. Kendrick instantly raised the bar on the competition. Lamar officially made it known with “Control” claiming to be the best rapper alive right now. The voters for this year’s Grammys took note by nominating the rapper with seven awards including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Best Rap Album.
This year in anticipation for Grammy night, the organization is filming a short “Day In The Life” video for each Best New Artist nominee. In the short film, you can find Kendrick describing his schedule while on tour with Kanye West, the amount of work required to get to where he is, and some thoughts on his recording process. Check out The Day In The Life with Kendrick above, it is great for Grammy viewers who may not be too familiar with the rapper and long time fans.
